Growing up in small-town Ontario Canada I always had a problem with sitting still. I played all the team sports, tack & field, gymnastics, whatever i could really. I discovered a major passion for the outdoors in my senior year of high school through the Environmental Science Leadership program. The ELP class spent most of the semester on trips, helping in the provincial parks, tree marking, hiking, canoeing, and kayaking, pretty much anything that wasn’t in the classroom! From this I had the opportunity to move to Wilderness Tours, a rafting operation on the Ottawa River, and train to be a raft guide. I spent 4 summers guiding while studying Parks and Outdoor Recreation at Sault College in Sault St Marie, Ontario. When I finished school and with no real goal in mind I followed a friend to Banff, Alberta and sparked a passion for snowboarding. 9 winters instructing in Lake Louise, Alberta in the heart of the Canadian Rockies and one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I spent the summers guiding for the Canmore Rafting Centre on the Kananaskis and Bow Rivers.
In 2008 I convinced a friend to travel to Wanaka, New Zealand for a 6 month southern hemisphere winter….. 8 years later and we are both still here. I work for an Ski, Outdoor, Bike shop, Racers Edge, which I love. The Wanaka community is amazing! Surrounded by casual athletes always looking for adventure it’s an easy place to find inspiration and is defiantly home for me!
